Data-Driven Strategist in Latam
Andrés is an economist with a master’s degree in economics, focusing on data strategy and statistical development. He is project director of Aurora Chatbot for Migrants in Chile, Colombia, Panamá, and Costa Rica. Andrés has been a consultant for the IDB and ECLAC to help different statistical offices in Latin America on issues of administrative data (records) exploitation.
Three years ago, he was director of the methodology and statistical production and planning at NSO in Colombia. There Andres promoted the design of National Statistical System 2.0, generated alternative approaches to data management and techniques for statistical use, and led the process of access to the OECD in statistics.
As project coordinator, Andrés supervises, manages, and coordinates the different aspects of the project with UNICEF -the main partner- and with the different organizations that have been linked to the project to generate an information system that provides timely data on the needs and characteristics of the migrant population in transit connected to Aurora and the humanitarian aid present on the route.
