Context

3iS is conducting a study under the IRM Program to understand the needs of migrants in Costa Rica, focusing on Central American and Venezuelan migrants lacking basic necessities. Using data from INEC 2011 and prioritizing nationalities like Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Venezuela, and Cuba, the study aims to support their integration in economic, social, and psychosocial aspects. It will inform policy formulation to address migrants' needs and aspirations. The study will cover migrants intending to establish permanent residency in Costa Rica, including those with various statuses, and collaborate closely with DGME to ensure relevant data collection, contributing to monitoring global migration frameworks like the Global Compact for Migration and SDGs.
