Context
Malawi, one of the world’s poorest countries, with approximately 70% of its population living below the international poverty line of USD 1.90 per day, heavily relies on rain-fed agriculture, making it vulnerable to climatic shocks and various risks like floods, droughts, epidemics, pests, and earthquakes. However, obtaining humanitarian data and information management has been a consistent challenge, hindering effective response, coordination, and dissemination of information among humanitarian actors. Recognizing this, 3iSolution has been providing support for humanitarian Information Management in Malawi since 2021.
From September 2021 to June 2022, 3iSolution provided HCIM support in collaboration with the UNRCO and the World Food Programme (WFP). The program aimed to strengthen Information Management coordination by improving the capacity of data producers to collect, process, analyse, and disseminate timely information to decision makers.
