Ala joined 3iS as an ANTICIPA Backend Developer. In this role, Ala works with the team to develop and maintain backend systems and data driven solutions, as well as analyze, visualize, and represent data in ways that support humanitarian operations and decision-making. He also works closely with the team to ensure efficient data flows and support the organization’s humanitarian and development programs.
Before joining 3iS, Ala worked for more than 10 years in information management, data analysis, and software development, mainly in humanitarian and development contexts. He worked with iMMAP, supporting UNOCHA and WHO, where he developed and managed humanitarian information systems, databases, APIs, and data processing and analysis tools. He also worked on several systems related to humanitarian response, needs assessments, complaints and feedback, and response monitoring.
Throughout his career, Ala has worked across both software development and information management, with experience in R, Python, Power BI, Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, JavaScript, TypeScript, Vue.js, REST APIs, and GIS. He has also supported different organizations and teams through system development, data analysis, capacity building, and technical support.
Ala is passionate about building practical and reliable technology solutions that improve the way data is managed and used to support humanitarian work.
