Continuing with predictive analyses based on IDEAM climate prediction models for the second quarter of 2025, with support from 3iSolution, the first rainy season is expected to develop across much of the country in April, May, and June. During this period, it is estimated that around 1.8 million people will be exposed in flood-prone areas, of which at least 674,000 are in very high risk categories and 1.2 million in high risk categories, reinforcing the need for early sectoral action to reduce costs, minimize impacts on the living conditions of vulnerable people in rural areas, and strengthen local risk preparedness and resilience.
