Angesom Alemayo is currently working as a Junior Information Management Officer at 3iS Ethiopia. He is an experienced information management (IM) professional with three years of experience in humanitarian operations and 4+ years of experience in academia. He specializes in data analysis, visualization, mobile data collection, and spatial analysis, with a focus on supporting humanitarian decision-making.
Prior to joining 3iS, he worked as an Information Management Officer at iMMAP Inc.’s Humanitarian Information Management Support Team (HIST). His role is focused on supporting humanitarian partners on information management services. This role included developing dashboards, conducting data analysis, providing capacity building, and supporting data collection activities. He has supported over 30 organizations with IM products, assessments, and IM training.
At IOM, he worked as Information Management Assistant and played a key role in CCCM activities, building and maintaining databases for MEAL indicators and CFM systems, creating maps and dashboards, and supporting assessment activities and operational reporting. Additionally, He worked as a Lecturer at Aksum University, Ethiopia before starting his career in humanitarian organizations for more than 4 years.
His technical expertise includes tools like Excel, Power BI, Python, R, ArcGIS, QGIS, KoboToolbox, and SQL Server. He is also skilled in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign for reports and infographics.
Angesom holds a master’s degree in computer science and is fluent in English, Amharic, and Tigrigna. He also holds a Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate. He is passionate about turning complex data into actionable insights and advancing data literacy within the humanitarian context.
