Juana Casique

Product Designer

Juana is a Political Scientist specializing in the intersection of technology and humanitarian action. Her work focuses on designing platforms and User Experiences (UX) that integrate Artificial Intelligence to optimize training, data analysis, and informed decision-making in crisis affected environments.

For over four years, she has applied her expertise in crisis contexts across Colombia, Venezuela, and its border region, while also collaborating remotely with teams in Ethiopia. She has worked with humanitarian organizations such as the Jesuit Refugee Service, iMMAP and 3iS focusing on building local capacities and empowering key humanitarian actors to mitigate the effects of migration, forced displacement, and natural disasters.

As a tech innovator, Juana has developed cloud-based solutions on AWS, including the Anticipa 2.0 and Compass platforms. In these projects, she deployed AI assistants and agents for analysis and training, implementing Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques on multimodal knowledge bases for diverse contexts like Colombia and Ethiopia.

Juana continues to specialize in the practical applications of AI, cloud product design, and User Experience and User Interface design (UX/UI). She is currently expanding her skill set by pursuing a professional certification in Cybersecurity, supported by a scholarship from Google and Colnodo.
